Common Questions · Asked & Answered
Asked & answered.
The questions clients ask most. Booking timelines, the bar formats, alcohol logistics, pricing, service area. If yours isn't here, send a note — Veronica or Augusto reads every inquiry.
Booking & Timing.
How far in advance should we book?
Most weddings book six to twelve months out — Saturdays in spring and fall in the Hill Country fill first. Corporate events, brand activations, and private parties often book on shorter timelines, and short-notice bookings often work too. Send an inquiry and we'll tell you what's open.
How quickly will I hear back after sending an inquiry?
Veronica or Augusto reads every inquiry, usually within two business days. We'll get back to you with availability, format options, and a sense of whether we're the right fit for your day.
The Bar Formats.
Which bar format is right for our event?
Outdoor venues with space tend toward the Piaggio Tap Bar — it becomes the visual centerpiece. Indoor or downtown events tend toward Satellite Bar Stations, which fit any room and scale from one station to six. Venues with a built-in bar tend toward Onsite Bartending — we bring the program, the bar stays put. The fastest way to figure out which fits is to send an inquiry; we'll help you choose.
What is the Piaggio Tap Bar?
The Piaggio Ape is a vintage Italian three-wheeler we converted into a mobile bar. The cargo bed lifts to reveal a solid wood bar top with six working taps and a hex-tile back wall. It runs entirely off its own battery — no power outlet, no setup, no built-in venue bar required. See the Piaggio →
What are Satellite Bar Stations?
Satellite Bar Stations are standalone, modular mobile bars that we bring to your event. Each station has a designed exterior, a solid wood bar top, and a full bartender service area. Multiple finishes available. Designed for venues that don't have a built-in bar — or events that want a prettier one. See the stations →
What is Onsite Bartending?
Onsite Bartending is our talent-forward format. We bring TABC-certified bartenders and a custom cocktail program to a venue that already has a bar — restaurants, hotels, country clubs, private homes, galleries with built-in service stations. The venue handles the surface; we handle everything else. See the service →
Alcohol & TABC.
Do you provide the alcohol?
No. Per Texas law, the host purchases all alcohol. We help you figure out exactly how much to order so nothing runs short and nothing goes to waste — try our free Alcohol Calculator for a starting list, then we refine the order together during planning.
Are your bartenders TABC-certified?
Yes. All service is handled by TABC-certified bartenders trained to our standards. Veronica and Augusto design every menu and bar setup; the team carries that work onto the floor.
Cocktails & Menu.
How does the cocktail program design work?
We walk through the menu with you in the weeks before the event. We refine through multiple rounds — flavor profiles, color palette match, batching for service speed. By the night of the event, the program is yours, dialed in, and ready to pour. No house menu, no default cocktails — every event gets a custom program.
Can you do non-alcoholic and zero-proof options?
Yes. We design a full mocktail and zero-proof program alongside the alcoholic menu, with the same care for flavor and presentation. Every event has guests who don't drink, and they should get something that feels designed for them, not a leftover.
Logistics & Setup.
How much space does the Piaggio Tap Bar need?
Plan for at least 12 feet long by 8 feet wide of level ground for the truck itself, plus 4–6 feet of standing room in front for guest service. The cargo door swings up overhead — clear ceiling height of 9 feet for indoor venues. We confirm site fit during planning.
Can the Piaggio be used indoors?
Yes. The Piaggio fits any indoor venue with ground-level access and a wide-enough door — galleries, warehouses, lofts, ballrooms, indoor reception halls. It runs on its own battery so no power outlet is needed. We just need a path to drive in.
Can Satellite Stations be set up indoors?
Yes — and indoor venues are where Satellite Bar Stations shine. Each station breaks down for transport and assembles on site, fits through standard doors and freight elevators, and works on hardwood, carpet, tile, or grass. Indoor receptions, hotel ballrooms, gallery openings, and corporate spaces are all common.
What does the venue need to provide for Onsite Bartending?
A built-in bar, kitchen island, or service station with counter space, ice access (or we bring), and running water for cleanup. Most restaurants, hotels, country clubs, gallery service stations, and private home bars qualify. We confirm the setup during planning and adjust if anything's missing.
Pricing & Service Area.
What does Uphill Taps cost?
Pricing scales with the format, bartender count, event length, location, and cocktail program. We build a tailored proposal after a brief conversation about your event — there's no fixed package price because no two events are the same. Send an inquiry with the basics (date, headcount, venue, format you're considering) and we'll get you a number within two business days.
What areas do you serve?
We're an Austin-based mobile bar serving the city and the broader Texas Hill Country — Dripping Springs, Wimberley, Fredericksburg, Driftwood, Spicewood, Lake Travis, and Marble Falls. We also travel across the Texas Triangle (Austin, San Antonio, Houston, Dallas–Fort Worth) and beyond for the right event.
